Chequamegon Fat Tire Bike Festival

Friday thru Sunday, September 18th through 20th, 2009
Friday warm-up event, pasta feast, product displays, award presentations, hundreds of miles of bike trails. Saturday is race day, Sunday is fun day. The Chequamegon 40 is a 40 mile (mass start) with 1,700 participants. Short and Fat is a 16-mile (mass start).

Saturday is “race day” and Sunday is “fun day!” So GET FAT soon!

Cable Area Fall Festival

Last Friday & Saturday of September

Many arts & crafts vendors, wine & cheese tasting, helicopter & hot air balloon rides, kids activities, chili cook-off, pumpkin dessert bake-off, fish boil, pumpkin pecan pancake breakfast, food vendors, carriage rides, raffles, contests, live music and street dance, area business sidewalk sales and much more. It's a great weekend event during the prime time for fall colors.

4rd Annual Namakagon Cancer Walk

October 16-18, 2009

An 18-mile walk around Lake Namakagon to raise money for the fight against cancer in the Sawyer, Ashland, and Bayfield counties.

Migratory Bird -- Generally 3rd Saturday in September
(There are often early Seasons for some species like Canadian Goose and Dove)

Deer-Bow -- 3rd Saturday in September

Deer-Gun -- Saturday before Thanksgiving (with alternate seasons available)
